Fondazione Bisazza

Montecchio Maggiore, Veneto

Founded in 2012 on the initiative of the Bisazza family, the foundation tells the evolution of glass mosaic from Renato Bisazza's work in the 1950s to contemporary experiments in design and architecture. Across the 8,500-square-metre exhibition space, the permanent collection brings together installations by Alessandro Mendini, Fabio Novembre, Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders and Richard Meier, alongside photographs by great architecture masters. Visits, by appointment, reveal how the glass tile became a designer material used in metro stations, museums and boutiques worldwide. A journey weaving together the industrial history of Vicenza's glass district with contemporary artistic research.
