In Crusinallo di Omegna, where Giovanni Alessi founded in 1921 the small metalworking workshop that gave rise to the company, the Museo Alessi holds more than 24,000 objects and prototypes, 13,000 drawings and 20,000 photographs tracing a century of Italian design. Set up in 1998 to a design by Alessandro Mendini, it tells the story of collaborations with designers such as Ettore Sottsass, Philippe Starck, Richard Sapper and Zaha Hadid. The free visit is available by appointment Monday to Friday.
