In Piazza Bologna, the Poste Italiane Historical Archive holds more than 52,000 photographs and around 1,100 films telling more than 150 years of Italian postal history, from the first nineteenth-century images to the early 1990s. The collection also includes around 65,000 personnel files, historic volumes and paper documents, catalogued with partners such as Alinari and Cinecittà Luce. The archive is open to the public by appointment, with free guided tours for groups and schools, and periodically holds photography exhibitions and special open days in Poste's historic buildings.
