Opened in 1976 at the former production site in Arese and reopened in 2015 after extensive renovation, the museum unfolds over six floors and 4,800 square metres organised into themed areas. It holds at least one example of every model the brand ever made, a collection totalling more than 250 cars and 150 engines, about half of which are on public display. Among its most famous pieces are the 6C 1750 Gran Sport with which Tazio Nuvolari won the Mille Miglia, the Alfetta 159 that won the Formula 1 world championship with Juan Manuel Fangio, and the iconic Giulietta.
