Archivio storico Intesa Sanpaolo

Turin, Piedmont

With roots going back to the sixteenth century and more than 12 kilometres of documentation spanning 1472 to 2006, the archive holds the records of more than 300 institutions absorbed into the group, from the Cassa di Risparmio delle Provincie Lombarde to Banca Commerciale Italiana. Among its more curious holdings are a collection of 1,500 money boxes from around the world and the Publifoto Archive, with around 7 million photographs of events, people and places taken between the 1930s and 1990s. A collection spread across Turin, Milan and Rome that tells more than four centuries of Italian banking history.
