Linked to the shipyard founded in 1866 by the Orlando brothers in the former San Rocco arsenal, the archive preserves drawings, photographs and documents on an output ranging from armoured cruisers and submarines to the battleship Lepanto, launched in 1883 and built entirely in Livorno with Italian technology. Part of the collection is held at the Livorno State Archive alongside around 25,000 technical drawings deposited in 2001. A collection that tells the birth of modern mechanical shipbuilding on the Tuscan coast.
