The Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari stands in Modena, on Via Paolo Ferrari, around the house where the Prancing Horse's founder was born on 18 February 1898, son of Alfredo, who ran a small mechanical workshop on the ground floor. Next to the nineteenth-century house is the yellow aluminium gallery shaped like a car bonnet, designed by architect Jan Kaplicky, a 5,000-square-metre structure holding engines and cars. The exhibition tells the story of Modena's motoring tradition through the marques that made it great, from Ferrari and Maserati to Scaglietti, Alfa Romeo, De Tomaso and Stanguellini. Run directly by Ferrari since 2014, the museum has been refreshed with a new layout weaving together Enzo Ferrari's biography with Modena's made-in-Italy engine industry.
