In Ostra Vetere, on an estate with origins going back to the eighteenth century, Ampelio Bucci founded in 1983 the estate that bears his name, one of the first to help restore dignity to Verdicchio, then considered a minor grape. Its 31.5 hectares of vineyard, farmed organically and certified, on clay- and limestone-rich soils, hold vines averaging forty years of age. This is where Riserva Villa Bucci is born, made since 1983 and, over the years, a benchmark for longevity and complexity within the Castelli di Jesi denomination. Visits, by appointment, include the historic winery, the vineyards and a taste of the estate's own extra-virgin olive oil.
