Cantine Astroni

Cantine Astroni stands in the heart of the Astroni volcanic crater, a WWF nature reserve on the outskirts of Naples, an almost unique case of an urban vineyard grown within the boundaries of a major city. On its volcanic soils grow the native Campi Flegrei grapes, Falanghina and Piedirosso, the basis of the estate's DOC labels. The microclimate sheltered by the crater and the proximity to the sea give the wines distinctive minerality and savouriness, an expression of one of Italy's oldest volcanic winegrowing areas. The visit winds through the vine rows inside the reserve and the winery, with a tasting of Campi Flegrei wines.
