In Furore, on the Amalfi Coast, Marisa Cuomo and Andrea Ferraioli grow terraced vineyards clinging to the cliffs above the sea, a recognised example of heroic viticulture held up by dry-stone walls. The native Fenile, Ginestra and Ripoli grapes give rise to Furore Bianco, while the rare Fiorduva produces one of the most original whites of the Costa d'Amalfi DOC. The red Piedirosso and Sciascinoso grapes complete a production notable for its balance of sea-salt savouriness and volcanic minerality. The visit lets visitors walk the cliffside terraces and discover the winery carved into the village's rock.
