Active in Canelli since 1892, Coppo makes wine between the Monferrato and the Langhe, combining a long family history with winemaking research. Its historic cellars, dug into the limestone tuff, are part of Canelli's famous Cattedrali Sotterranee (Underground Cathedrals), recognised in 2014 as UNESCO World Heritage as part of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato winegrowing landscapes. The underground keeps a naturally constant temperature between 12 and 14 degrees, ideal for ageing the sparkling wines born right here in Canelli, the birthplace of Italy's first spumante from 1865 onward. Visits let guests descend into these monumental tunnels and taste the company's wines.
