Born in 1932 from an idea by Cesare Goria Gatti and Roberto Biscaretti di Ruffia and opened to the public in 1960, MAUTO tells a century of automotive history through almost 200 cars from 80 marques and eight countries. The route unfolds over three floors: the second-floor galleries weave the evolution of the car together with the great events of the twentieth century, the first floor explores the relationship between people and mobility through sport, advertising and road safety, while the ground floor hosts temporary exhibitions and automotive design. Renovated to a design by architect Cino Zucchi for the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification, the Turin museum remains a benchmark for automotive industrial culture.
