Zaccagnini

Bolognano, Abruzzo

Founded in 1978 by Ciccio Zaccagnini in Bolognano, in the Val di Foro, the winery is known throughout Italy for the small vine sprig tied around the neck of every bottle, the famous "Tralcetto", which has become the brand's symbol together with Montepulciano d'Abruzzo San Clemente. Alongside its wine production, ranging from Montepulciano and Trebbiano to Pecorino, the estate has developed its "Cantina d'Arte", a trail of sculptures and contemporary works displayed among the barrels and the vineyards. The visit thus combines a tour of the winery and the ageing rooms with a diffuse art experience, which has made Zaccagnini one of the most visited wine-tourism destinations in Abruzzo. The on-site restaurant and tastings round out an offering designed for visitors.
