Winery 'A Vita
Cirò, Calabria
A small artisan winery in Cirò founded by Francesco De Franco, among the most admired interpreters of natural Gaglioppo winemaking. The vineyards, bush-trained on historic soils of the denomination, are farmed with no synthetic chemicals, while at the winery fermentation takes place in concrete tanks with no filtration or additives. The name itself, 'A Vita, meaning "the vine" in Calabrian dialect, sums up the direct bond with the land that guides the estate's philosophy. Its labels, now known in international natural-wine circles too, can be tasted at the winery alongside the story of this artisan approach.
