Ippolito 1845

Cirò Marina, Calabria

Founded in 1845 by Vincenzo Ippolito, it is one of Calabria's oldest wineries and has spent almost two centuries staying tied to the Cirò Marina area. Production has historically centred on Gaglioppo, the native grape behind Cirò Rosso Classico, the label with which the family helped define the denomination's style. The cellars in the town centre preserve period barrels and rooms that tell the estate's long winemaking tradition. The visit traces this history through the historic rooms and a tasting of the wines of the Cirò tradition.
