Winery Cantele
Guagnano, Puglia
A family estate founded in 1979 by Domenico Cantele in Guagnano, in the heart of the Salice Salentino area, now run by the second generation. Among the first Apulian estates to focus firmly on foreign markets, it helped introduce grapes such as Negroamaro and Primitivo abroad, alongside the Salice Salentino DOC that bears the area's name. The vineyards grow on iron-rich red soils, typical of the Lecce inland area. The winery welcomes visitors for tours through vineyard and cellar, with tastings of its historic labels.
