Masseria Li Veli

Cellino San Marco, Puglia

A fortified eighteenth-century masseria (farmhouse) in the heart of the Salento, today a benchmark winery for Apulian Negroamaro, with vineyards spread between Cellino San Marco and neighbouring towns. The property belongs to the Falvo family, already at the helm of Sicily's Duca di Salaparuta, who have restored the historic buildings and invested in showcasing native varieties such as Susumaniello and Malvasia Nera alongside Negroamaro. The visit crosses the courtyards and cellars of the original masseria before a tasting of its labels, including the well-known "Askos" line. An example of how Salento's rural architecture can coexist with a contemporary winemaking project.
