Founded in 1880 by the Pellegrino family, it is one of Marsala's oldest and most important wineries, keeper of the fortified-wine tradition born in the city in the eighteenth century. In the historic bagli of the town centre, visitors can see the ageing rooms with batteries of barrels destined for Marsala DOC, made in different styles from Fine to Vergine Riserva. The estate also grows Zibibbo vineyards on Pantelleria, giving rise to Passito, another symbol of Sicilian winemaking. The visit traces more than a century of winemaking history amid the bitter-almond and honey aromas typical of these meditation wines.
