Factory Caseificio Alto But

Since 1969 Caseificio Alto But has collected milk from farmers in the Val But, in Carnia, turning it into cheese following mountain dairying tradition. The guided visit starts in the heart of the production workshop, where the stages of cheesemaking can be seen up close, and continues into the maturing rooms where the wheels slowly age. The tour ends with a tasting of the dairy's own cheeses.
