Cincinnato

Cori, Lazio

Founded in 1947 in Cori and named after Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus, a symbolic figure of the bond with the land, the cooperative today brings together 105 winegrowing members farming more than 550 hectares on the hills around Cori. The winery has specialised in reviving rare native varieties such as Nero Buono, Bellone, Cesanese and Greco, focusing on organic farming and energy self-sufficiency through a solar power plant. Unlike many cooperative wineries, Cincinnato has made hospitality an integral part of its business, restoring an old farmhouse turned into a wine resort with fifteen rooms and a restaurant based on local produce and recipes. A project combining the cooperative tradition with a modern idea of wine tourism in the heart of southern Lazio.
