Confetti Mucci

Andria, Puglia

In 1894 Nicola Mucci, back in Andria after learning the confectioner's craft in Naples, opened his workshop a short walk from the cathedral, in what is now an elegant Art Nouveau building. The Museo del Confetto, attached to the historic factory, gathers in four sections documents, machinery and moulds used to make sugared almonds, sweets and chocolate. The roughly hour-long guided visit includes an introductory video on Casa Mucci and a look at the original rooms, amid the scents of vanilla, chocolate, bergamot and coffee that still fill the old town today.
