Fondazione M9, Museo del 900

Mestre, Veneto

Opened in 2018 in the heart of Mestre, M9 tells the story of twentieth-century Italy through 60 multimedia installations, around 6,000 photographs and hundreds of hours of archival footage, spread across eight themed sections ranging from the economy to social customs. The dark, polygonal spaces, designed by the Berlin firm Sauerbruch Hutton, guide visitors through an immersive journey through demographics, technology, work and everyday life. A museum that uses data and images to explain how Italy became what it is today.
