Jermann

Farra d'Isonzo (Villanova), Friuli-Venezia Giulia

Founded in 1881 by Anton Jermann, who arrived from Austria in Villanova di Farra d'Isonzo, the estate owes its international fame to Silvio Jermann, who in 1972 created Vintage Tunina, one of Italy's most celebrated white wines, born from the blending of Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit. The vineyards spread across around 150 hectares between the Ruttars hill, the stony soils of the Isonzo and the historic Villanova headquarters. Visits, by appointment, reveal the winery and offer a tasting of the labels that made Jermann a benchmark for winemaking in Venezia Giulia. Alongside Tunina, the estate grows Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Nero, expressing the diversity of the Isonzo area.
