The Felluga family, originally from Istria, moved to the Collio after the First World War; Marco Felluga founded the estate that bears his name in 1956 and in 1967 acquired Russiz Superiore, an estate in Capriva del Friuli whose name comes from the hills where the vineyards spread, farmed since Roman times. On its 100 hectares, half planted with vines at a density of 6,000 vines per hectare, white wines dominate production, first among them Friulano, a native grape documented in Friuli since the eleventh century. The estate's symbol, an eagle, recalls the emblem of the Princes della Torre Tasso, lords of these lands since 1273. The visit includes a walk through the Collio's rows of vines and a tasting of the whites that made the estate famous.
