Venica & Venica

Dolegna del Collio, Friuli-Venezia Giulia

On 6 February 1930 Daniele Venica signed the preliminary contract to buy a smallholding in the Cerò area, in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio, giving rise to the family estate now in its fourth generation. The vineyards produce crus telling the story of the estate's different slopes: the Sauvignon Ronco del Cerò, tied to the family's origins, the Ronco delle Mele, from the first plantings in 1984, and the Ronco delle Cime, dedicated to Friulano. Other varieties grown include Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, aromatic Traminer, Merlot, Refosco and Cabernet Franc. Guided tours let visitors walk the Collio's hillside crus and taste, at the winery, the white wines that made the Venica family famous.
