Founded in 1919 by Antonio Franco and relaunched in the 1980s by Primo Franco, who in 1983 made the first Prosecco Valdobbiadene to carry a vintage on the label, this is among the pioneering wineries of the denomination. The Glera vineyards spread through the heart of Valdobbiadene, with some plots in the Cartizze area. Visits, by appointment, are led personally by Primo or his daughter Silvia, the fourth generation at the estate since 2006, and can include vertical tastings going back 40-50 years. In the town's historic centre, meeting at the winery feels more like a direct conversation with the family than a traditional visit.
