Villa Sandi, an elegant Palladian-style Venetian villa, is the heart of the Moretti Polegato family's wine estates, set among the vineyards of the Crocetta del Montello estate, at the foot of the Treviso Prosecco hills between the Montello and the Piave river. Beneath the villa stretch around a kilometre and a half of evocative underground tunnels, partly dug during the First World War and now used to age sparkling wines, including the classic-method Opere Trevigiane. The free guided visit leads from the underground cellars to the villa's historic rooms, in a journey combining art, architecture and wine. The tastings reveal the full range of Prosecco Superiore made by the estate.
