Winery Tenuta Castelbuono
Bevagna, Umbria
The Lunelli family acquired this thirty-hectare estate between Bevagna and Montefalco in 2001, to produce Sagrantino, whose first vintage came out in 2003. In 2012 Carapace was opened, the winery designed by sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro, whose engraved copper dome recalls the shape of a tortoise shell. Certified organic since 2014, the estate is visited through the vineyards and the underground spaces of this designer winery, with tastings dedicated to Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso.
