Textile entrepreneur Arnaldo Caprai bought the first forty-five hectares in Montefalco in 1971, but it was his son Marco, running the estate since 1988, who revived Sagrantino with modern agronomic and winemaking research. The Sagrantino 25 Anni, awarded internationally in the early 1990s, brought worldwide attention for the first time to this native grape, grown only in Montefalco for centuries. Today the estate manages 160 hectares of vineyard spread across every slope of the DOCG. Guided tours cross the vineyards and the winery, with technical tastings dedicated to Sagrantino.
