Founded in 1902 when Giacomo Tommasi bought the first hillside vineyards in Pedemonte di Valpolicella, the estate is now run by the founder's nine great-grandchildren and is among the thirteen Historic Families of Amarone Valpolicella. The first official vintage of Amarone Classico Tommasi dates to 1959, made from the traditional drying of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. Over time the property has grown to around 770 hectares across the Veneto and other Italian regions, from Lugana to Tuscany, while keeping the Valpolicella as the historic heart of the business. The tour takes in the drying rooms and the ageing cellars, where the Amarone bottles rest.
