Alois Lageder

Magré sulla Strada del Vino, Trentino-South Tyrol

Founded in 1823 in Magré, the South Tyrol winery is today run by the sixth generation of the Lageder family, following the turning point marked in 1934 by Alois III with the purchase of the Löwengang estate. From the mid-1990s the winery began converting its vineyards to biodynamic farming, following Rudolf Steiner's principles, becoming a benchmark for sustainable agriculture in South Tyrol. It grows around thirty grape varieties across 55 hectares of its own, supplemented by grapes from more than eighty local growers, divided into the Vitigni Classici, Composizioni and Cru lines. The visit tells two centuries of family history along the Wine Road, through vineyards, winery and the philosophy of diversity that guides the estate.
