Cantina Tramin

Founded in 1898 and now a reference point for around 190 winegrowing families across 270 hectares, Cantina Tramin stands in Termeno, the birthplace of Gewürztraminer, the aromatic grape that takes the town's name. In 2010 its historic headquarters gained an architectural sculpture designed by Werner Tscholl, whose geometric glass-and-aluminium forms evoke a vine shoot and have become an icon of the South Tyrol wine landscape. The most recent extension, largely underground, represents the largest investment in the cooperative's 128-year history. The visit reveals this iconic architecture alongside the vineyards that preserve the Gewürztraminer tradition.
