Founded in 1983 as a cooperative by a group of mountain winegrowers, at the urging of Morgex's then parish priest Don Bougeat, it now brings together around 70 winegrowing families from Morgex and La Salle. The vineyards, grown between 900 and 1,200 metres above sea level at the foot of Mont Blanc, are among the highest in Europe and grow Prié Blanc, the Aosta Valley's only native white grape, grown on its own ungrafted rootstock. The winery was the first in the valley to make a Metodo Classico sparkling wine, the Cuvée des Guides, long-aged at these altitudes' natural temperature. Visits take in the "heroic" vineyards and the winery, with a tasting of the wines made from this rare grape.
