Maison Bertolin was founded in 1957 in Arnad, when Guido Bertolin opened the family's first butcher's shop, and is today among the leading producers of PDO Lardo d'Arnad, whose curing in flavoured brine is a centuries-old tradition of the lower Aosta Valley. The meat producer makes more than 70 kinds of local cured meats, from boudin to mocetta made from beef, horse, chamois, wild boar and venison, through to juniper-cured prosciutto. At the Lo Scrigno dei Sapori shop, large windows let visitors watch the production stages live, while the shop also sells genepy, wine and local craft beer. An experience telling more than sixty years of Aosta Valley meat-curing tradition passed down through generations.
