Poderi dal Nespoli

Civitella di Romagna, Emilia-Romagna

The estate's story begins in 1929, when Attilio Ravaioli, who ran the "Da Tilio" inn in Cusercoli, built the first winery to meet growing demand for his wine; in the 1980s the headquarters moved to the hamlet of Nespoli, in the municipality of Civitella di Romagna, giving the estate its current name. Its 180 hectares of vineyard, now led by the fourth generation with agronomist Celita Ravaioli, spread across the hills of the Bidente valley, where sharp day-night temperature swings favour the aromatic ripening of the grapes. Production is 70% dedicated to red grapes, mainly Sangiovese di Romagna, and the rest to white varieties such as Trebbiano. Vineyard walks and cellar tastings tell almost a century of viticulture in a valley where rules for growing vines were already written into the town statute of 1582.
